The team at Craftsman’s Choice amped up the charm of this classic South Minneapolis, MN home. James Hardie Cedarmill lap siding, James Hardie half-rounds and James Hardie accent trim were the building blocks of the design. Expert installation was the key to the execution of this winning project.
This South Minneapolis, MN transformation began with carefully removing the existing cedar shakes that were covered with lead paint. Once the substrate was inspected, the restoration began. James Hardie Dream Collection 5-inch exposure lap siding in Woodland Cream was the choice for the main body of this vintage home. For textural relief, James Hardie half-rounds in Woodland Cream were installed on the gables of the roof and portico. The James Hardie half-rounds reinforce the cottage charm of the design. In addition, a new James Hardie soffit and fascia system in Arctic White was installed.
Other small design details were used to emphasize the character and period of this 1940’s-era home. The failing portico over the front door was rebuilt for a more welcoming entry. James Hardie shutters in Arctic White were added to play up the cottage feel. And James Hardie bullnose band board in Arctic White was used to differentiate the first story from the gable.
