Shades of coastal blue became the new color story of this lovely Maple Grove, MN home. James Hardie Cedarmill lap siding, board and batten, trim and shutters were the raw materials. The Craftsman’s Choice team were the artisans that pulled these elements together to complete this stunning composition in blue.
The jumping-off point for this renovation project was the choice of James Hardie 6-inch Cedarmill lap siding in Boothbay blue for the first story of the home. The mid-tone Boothbay Blue beautifully complements the beiges and grays in the existing brickwork. For textural relief, James Hardie board and batten siding in Evening Blue was installed on the gables of the portico and upper level. The depth of Evening Blue nicely contrasts with the softer Boothbay Blue on the lower level. Using two different shades of the same color achieved cohesion without being monotonous.
The finishing details on this Maple Grove, MN home added to its dreamy appeal. The charming window shutters were custom-built, using maintenance-free James Hardie and Boral trim finished in classic black. The attention to-detail continued with custom-built gable vents also made from James Hardie trim material. The home was completed with James Hardie trim in Artic White for crisp definition. The combination of color, James Hardie materials and Craftsman’s Choice expertise all contributed to the success of this blue beauty.
