This James Hardie Artisan project in Maple Grove MN, was neighborhood transformation. Proving a Minnesota home exterior renovation has no limits and creativity knows no bounds, this contemporary home in Maple Grove was once anything but. The before photo of this renovation is absolutely unrecognizable. Knowing this home had great bones, the homeowners approached us with this unique project and a request to bring their home to modern times – and then some. The end result is a project we are very happy with.

James Hardie Artisan V-Groove siding from the James Hardie Architectural Collection was the perfect choice for this remodel, so we worked with the imaginative owners to land on this modern but timeless and bold but neutral siding in the color Aged Pewter. While the home may be modern, we can assure you the siding is durable and built to last. It’s no match for Minnesota’s tough weather. We matched the siding with trim in the same color, just adding to the modern and contemporary look of this home that is now built to last.
One of the features that really set this house off was the use of cedar siding in the entryway. Cedar siding doesn’t do great in Minnesota when it is exposed to the weather. However, when you can protect it inside a porch or other covered surfaces, it does quite well. This contrast of color and texture works great when you are going for a contemporary look.
Another big piece of this project was replacing the windows. These Maple Grove homeowners had a dated bay window in the back that was no longer performing. We removed that window and installed a giant Marvin Ultimate picture window that extended towards the pool area outside. This provided them with an unobstructed view to the pool area.
The homeowners’ additional upgrades of the garage door, entryway, porch, light fixtures and more complemented the façade and completed this unreal transformation.
