A hailstorm did a number on the exterior of this Maple Grove home. The client seized the opportunity to upgrade their dented aluminum siding to James Hardie siding. This product makes hailstorm worries virtually a thing of the past. Craftsman’s Choice, a James Hardie preferred contractor, was the solution to take the project from design through installation.
One of the design challenges of the project was figuring out how to break up the 3-story wall in the back of the home. The solution was to add interest through color and texture variation. James Hardie 7-inch lap siding in Woodstock Brown was installed on the main body of the home. Woodstock Brown is a warm, neutral color that nicely grounded the home. Using a wider exposure of lap siding worked especially well on this tall expanse. James Hardie shingle shakes in Countrylane Red were used in the peaks of the gables. Countrylane Red adds a splash of color and the shakes provide some textural relief. The design was capped off by the installation of a copper roof to accent the hexagonal window feature. The window was also accented in James Hardie shingle shakes in Country lane to make this feature pop. This stunning combination of materials and design made this Maple Grove project shine.
