This Maple Grove James Hardie project was an amazing transformation. Trapped in the 80’s, it was in dire need of an exterior remodeling refresh, and we knew exactly how to help it. The siding was painted an outdated color and had seen better days due to fading from the bright Minnesota summer sun. The homeowners reached out to our exterior experts to bring this home back to life.
We began by removing the old, high-maintenance siding. Removing the existing siding is the best way to go when you are siding a home. Some contractors will try to get away with going over the old siding. Doing this hides any moisture issues that could be under the existing siding.
Once the siding was removed and we got the house wrap on, we started installing the new, low-maintenance and weather-tough James HardiePlank siding in the color Aged Pewter. To give the home a real pop, we accented it by adding Pearl Gray shakes above the garage. It grabs your attention from the moment you pull up the driveway. The finishing touches are where this home stands out. We complemented the home beautifully with a stark Arctic White trim.
Finally, the use of this unique and stunning cultured stone around the lower level and garage helps this home’s value and curb appeal immensely. We went a little higher on the sides of the garage doors than we normally do. Typically we will go up 42″ but on this one we went up 50″. The use of a color coordinated sill can provide a more finished appearance than the standard.
