This project in Minneapolis, MN was a fun challenge for the Craftsman’s Choice professionals. A combination of James Hardie lap siding, James Hardie shakes and Richlin vinyl windows were chosen to update this vintage home. The award-winning Craftsman’s Choice installation team brought this project to its beautiful conclusion.
The vision for this 1920’s era home was to update the exterior while restoring some the home’s period appeal. Incorporating low maintenance materials into the design was also important. The project began with the client’s desire to open up the existing front porch. Removing the porch enclosure instantly restored some of the home’s original appeal. Richlin vinyl windows were chosen for ease of upkeep.
James Hardie smooth lap siding in Heathered Moss was the logical low-maintenance choice for the body of this vintage home. James Hardie Heritage straight-edge shakes in Mountain Sage was chosen for the gables. The James Hardie shakes added another layer of authenticity to the design while sticking to the low maintenance goal. The two-tone green color scheme beautifully complements the red brickwork on the existing chimney. James Hardie trim in Arctic White was the classic choice to complete this renewed Minneapolis classic abode.
