With the previous muted tones of browns, tans and grays, the homeowner wanted to step up the appearance of this home in a not-so-subtle way, and we made their vision come to life. Working with the existing cultured stone enabled the homeowners to save some money and put it towards other parts of the project.
On the back and sides of the home, we removed the existing vinyl siding that was damaged due to a recent hailstorm. The old plastic siding was also faded and worn so it was time for an upgrade anyway. After a few years, vinyl siding just doesn’t hold up to our Minnesota climate. In the summer the sun beats down on it and makes it fade. Once this so called “maintenance free” material is faded, there is nothing you can do to bring back it’s original color. So you need to live with faded plastic siding, or remove and replace it.
